1. Authority of Scripture
We believe in the divine inspiration of the whole Bible and therewith the infallibility of the Holy Scripture which is God’s Word.
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, each word having been God-breathed. God gave the Bible to the Church (the body of born-again believers existing worldwide), and the Church is to serve God in obedience to the Bible.
We hold the Bible as the final and supreme authority for our doctrine and lives, and that it is without error in the original writings.
The final guide to the interpretation of Scripture is Scripture itself.
2. Creation
The scientific aspects of creation are important, but are secondary in importance to the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as Sovereign, Creator, Redeemer and Judge.
The doctrines of Creator and Creation cannot ultimately be divorced from the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Scripture teaches a recent origin for man and the whole creation.
The days in Genesis do not correspond to geologic ages, but are six [6] consecutive twenty-four [24] hour days of Creation.
3. Sin
All mankind are sinners, inherently from Adam and individually (by choice) and are therefore subject to God’s wrath and condemnation. A person is saved from God’s wrath by personal, individual repentance and trust in Christ’s sacrifice alone.
4. Biblical accuracy in science
The account of origins presented in Genesis is a simple but factual presentation of actual events and therefore provides a reliable framework for scientific research into the question of the origin and history of life, mankind, the Earth and the universe.
5. Biblical accuracy in history
By definition, no apparent, perceived or claimed evidence in any field, including history and chronology, can be valid if it contradicts the Scriptural record. Of primary importance is the fact that evidence is always subject to interpretation by fallible people who do not possess all information. The sole exception is the Bible, which is self-interpreting and complete.
6. Israel
We believe that Israel is God’s chosen people, and that the restoration of the Jews in their own land is the fulfillment of the Word of God.
7. The Godhead and Person of Christ
We believe in the Eternal Triune God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was begotten of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, shed His precious blood to save mankind and was resurrected bodily.
8. The Cross of Christ
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died in place of each individual sinner and that all who repent of their sin, believe in and accept Him as their personal Lord and Savior are justified by faith alone through grace alone, by the imputation of Christ’s holiness through His shed blood.
9. Biblical accuracy in relation to modern times
We believe the Bible provides a reliable framework for understanding current and future world events.
Western culture has moved to reject the very notion of truth and to embrace relativism and radical subjectivism on the claim that all notions of truth are socially constructed—thus everyone has their own, equally truthful truth.
WMBC emphatically rejects all such positions, both secular (post-modernism) and religious (ecumenism), as incompatible with the absolute nature and authority of God and by extension, His revealed truth in the Bible.
10. Final things
We believe in the pre-tribulational, pre-millennial appearance of Jesus Christ for the Rapture of His Church (all born again believers).
We believe in the immortality of our souls and the resurrection of our bodies. We believe in the resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting punishment of the lost.
